Awards

It seems like everyone is giving out some kind of award these days. It also seems like this is a worthwhile trend, so I figured it was about time that I should start giving special recognition to those who have done something extraordinary or something extraordinarily stupid. This is the place to find those special awards.

When I first started tossing around the idea of doing some type of awards program through IBWT, I had a hard time deciding exactly how to manage it. Would it be best to give awards monthly? Annually? Whenever I thought they were deserved? And what types of awards would I give?

I finally settled on what I think is easiest for me to manage right now: I'll give awards whenever I feel like they've been earned. I will also not use any sort of pre-defined categories. I will make up the categories as I go along, to fit whoever I feel needs some kind of recognition. However, I will repeatedly re-use award categories that I find useful.

No two people will be nominated for the same award in the same month, with the exception of the "Evolution Award," which I will give to those who send me their stories of having abandoned some irrational belief and joined the side of reason.
